Message I had to deal with this issue myself in downtown Detroit about 4 years ago. Parked in a spot clearly labled company (it had the actual name and all) parking only.

They didn't use a chain or anything like that but called one of the guys who patrole the lot to block me in until they could tow it. Well I show up (this was only about 15 minutes) and the guy had his windows rolled up and would not even ackowledge me standing there trying to get his attention.

Then this suited old middle aged man came out with a quirky smile and tells me "we do this everytime you people drop your cars here" Well I didn't even get into a long conversation with him.

I told hom "If you don't move the truck I'm going to move it myself and probably with your body"!!!

He says immediatly "I'm calling the police" " you just threatened my and your going to jail tonight"

I start laughing and say "I'll give you 1 minute to move the truck. This should be enough time to call the Paramedics as well for your friend and yourself"

The guy didn't complete his call when a Police car showed up.

The guy explains this like the Cop is on his payole. I give my side and the cop tells the guy to move he truck now!

The cops says that if the owner shows before the tow truck you cannot block his property. Its not their's for towing until its hooked to the truck.

I smile a quirky smile and drive off.

The laws may be different where you are but you could have opened a can of Senior Citizen Whoop Ace on this guy and you may have been in the right leagally!

Unless your a police officer don't play the role and get hurt or embarresed!
